Club Power Rankings
National & State — Youth/AAU Basketball
Every club ranked as a whole program — combining all of its teams into one opponent-adjusted Power Rating — nationally and within its home state. Pick a state to see that state's club rankings; click a club to see its teams. Updates are typically done once a week. Last Updated: --/--/----
The Leading Destination for Youth & AAU Club Basketball Rankings
BBallRankings.com is where club directors, coaches, and parents go to see how a program stacks up — not by reputation or a tournament's own seeding, but by an opponent-adjusted Power Rating built from every game every one of a club's teams has played. Club Rankings roll an entire program into one number, nationally and by state, updated weekly.
Built on the Same Data-Driven Methodology Coaches Trust
Our club ratings use the same opponent-adjusted engine behind our team rankings — a blend of five independent rating systems (adjusted efficiency, Massey, Elo, Colley, and PageRank) that cross-check each other so no single result or lopsided schedule can distort a club's true strength. It's why club directors use these ratings to benchmark their program and scout scheduling, and why parents use them to see exactly where a club's teams rank at the state and national level.
Every Club, Every State, Every Grade
Whether you're comparing programs before committing to a club, sizing up divisional rivals, or tracking your own club's trajectory across a season, our Club Rankings give you the same transparent view — with a public, documented methodology instead of a black box.
How Club Rankings Are Calculated
Every club gets a Power Rating (0–100) built from the exact same opponent-adjusted science behind our team rankings — only here we treat the whole program as a single team. We collapse every game played by every one of a club's teams into one club-vs-club résumé, then run the full consensus engine over it. ~50 is an average club; each 15 points is roughly one standard deviation.
Each system is converted to a standardized (z-score) scale before blending, then the blend is mapped onto the 0–100 Power scale — identical to the team methodology, applied at the club level.
- Club aggregation — Each team is matched to its parent club, and every game that team played becomes a game for the club. A club that fields more competitive teams across more grades builds a deeper, harder-to-fake résumé. Intra-club games (a club's own two teams meeting in the same bracket) are excluded from the rating — they reveal nothing about how the club stacks up against other programs.
- Adjusted Efficiency — Net / Off / Def (55%) — A ridge-regularized regression solves every club's games at once to separate scoring from scoring prevention, after correcting for the quality of every opponent club faced. Net Rating = adjusted Offense − adjusted Defense, in points per game versus an average club on a neutral floor. The single best measure of true program strength.
- Massey (18%) — Solves a linear system over all scoring margins; opponent-adjusted, margin-aware.
- ELO (10%) — Starts at 1,000 per club and updates after every game (K=32). A sequential, recency-sensitive estimate.
- Colley (9%) — A linear system over wins and losses only (ignores margin), naturally adjusted for schedule.
- PageRank / Graph (8%) — Models wins as directed links in a network; beating clubs who beat strong clubs is rewarded, like authoritative web links.
Anti-blowout (soft margin cap). To keep ratings fair for youth basketball and discourage running up the score, winning margin is counted in full up to 20 points; beyond that each extra point counts half, capped at 35. Pace (total points) is preserved.
Strength of Schedule (SOS) is shown as the average Net Rating of the opponent clubs you faced (positive = a tougher-than-average slate). It is diagnostic only — the ratings above already account for schedule, so SOS is not double-counted.
Filters. Each club is ranked across its entire program (all grades) within a gender. Choose Boys or Girls, a season, and either All states for the national ranking or a specific state for that state's ranking.
Eligibility: a club needs 15+ games (across all its teams in the current view) for an official rank. Clubs with fewer still display their full Power Rating and every stat — they're simply marked NA with how many more games they need.
Ranked clubs are ordered by Power Rating descending, with Win% then Net Rating as tiebreakers.
